Joe Soucie

Biography

Joe Soucie moved to La Vista in 1978 and graduated from Papillion/La Vista High School. He started with the City of La Vista in October 1986 as a Maintenance Worker I in the Parks Department. Since that time Joe has held the positions of Maintenance Worker II, Crew Leader and General Foreman. He was appointed Public Works Director in March 1998.

Prior to starting with La Vista, Joe was an Assistant Manager for the Chicago Lumber Company of Omaha. He has a Bachelors Degree in Social Science and Education from Midland Lutheran College and a Masters Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University. Joe received his State of Nebraska Street Superintendent’s License in 1995.

He is a past president and current alternate delegate for the Nebraska Chapter of American Public Works Association; co-chairman of the Metropolitan Area Planning Agency - Transportation Technical Advisory Committee; director for the Nebraska League of Municipalities Utility Section; Affiliate Director for the Lincoln-Omaha-Council Bluffs Association of Transportation Engineers.
