Join us for a live reading of a Golden Sower Award Nominee! We are currently reading nominees from the 2020-2021 year. Each week we will read the first few chapters of a book from either the chapter book or novel book categories. If you want to finish the story, you'll have to check out a copy from the library yourself!
What's the Golden Sower Award?
The Golden Sower is Nebraska's state book award for best children's book. This award has been given out annually since 1981, and now currently has three different categories nominated books are eligible to win in. Winners are chosen by the votes from students, teachers, and parents from Nebraska. Each year voting takes place in April and winners are announced in May. Readers need to have read at least 4 books in the category they are voting in to participate. Schools and libraries serve as polling places.
