PAT (Physical Agility Test)

The LVPD utilizes the Cooper Institute Fitness Test for law enforcement. The assessment measures health related components to fitness. Components are important to quality of life and can determine performance levels (e.g. ability to participate in vigorous activity or performing essential job functions). The testing standards are age and gender specific. The LVPD minimum standard for successful completion of the Physical Agility Test is a 40% level, with a required finish in all events. The Agility Wall Climb is pass/fail and not included in the Cooper Test scoring. Cooper Standards Course: To pass, you must complete successfully get over the five foot wall and score at least 40% in the Cooper activities, with at least one point in each.

  • Five Foot Agility Wall Climb
  • Vertical Jump
  • 1 Minute Sit-Up
  • 300 Meter Run
  • 1 Minute Push-Up
  • 1.5 Mile Run

Written Exam
The Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery measures skills that are associated with successful performance as a Nebraska peace officer.

Oral Panel Interview
What to Expect:

  • The interview panel consist of three to five experts in the related field.
  • The panel members will take turns asking questions. Be sure to address your responses to all panel members, not just the one asking the question.
  • While you are speaking, the panel members may be taking notes.
  • The panel members will use your interview responses along with other information, such as your application packet, resume, and supplemental responses to assess your qualifications.
  • You will be notified of your results by e-mail.
