[ARCHIVED] Door-to-Door Visits Begin for 2020 Census

NEWS SMALL Census

Starting this month, the U.S. Census Bureau began following up with households nationwide that have not yet responded to the 2020 Census. As of August 12, the National self-response rate is 63.4 percent, Sarpy County total self-response rate is 76.9 percent and 69.8 percent is via internet. Census takers will go door to door to assist people in responding to the 2020 Census. Census takers have completed training on social distancing and safety protocols, will follow local public health guidelines, and will be required to wear a face mask when conducting follow-up visits.

Census Surveys

If you receive a survey or a letter in the mail from the Census Bureau, the envelope contains information that will help you verify its legitimacy. For example: “U.S. Census Bureau” in the return address or “U.S. Department of Commerce” which is the Census Bureau’s parent agency. Jeffersonville, IN in the return address. The Census Bureau has a mail processing center located there.

Stop the knock at your door by responding today. Sarpy County residents can complete their 2020 Census by visiting 2020census.gov, or by phone at 844-330-2020 (English) or 844-469-2020 (Spanish), or through the mail.
