Throughout the 84th Street Trail Project, you can expect regular updates from us about what work is being done and what you can expect to see.
We hope these updates are helpful and informative, and if you would like us to address a certain topic, please let us know!
As the project kicks off, one of the first things you will see is the removal of trees along the corridor from Giles Road to Harrison Street.
These trees need to be removed to make room for the new 10-foot-wide trails that will run along both sides of 84th Street. Future phases of our Streetscape Plan anticipate new trees along the corridor.
After the trees are removed, crews will remove the median between Park View Blvd. and City Centre Dr. and fill it in with concrete. This will make the lane closures possible. Once the concrete has cured in the median area, crews will set up the two-lane traffic, which we anticipate to be in place by the last week of November.
Crews will start the bridge work on the west side of 84th Street, so the traffic restrictions will affect the southbound lanes. This first phase of bridge work is expected to last until summer 2026.
