Rita Ramirez

Biography

Rita began her career with the City of La Vista in December of 1990 as the Deputy City Clerk. She was promoted to the position of City Clerk in March of 1998. On September 6, 2006, Ramirez was appointed to the position of Assistant City Administrator. 

On January 1, 2025, Ramirez was appointed Interim City Administrator. 

A life-long resident of the La Vista area, she previously worked for the Papillion-La-Vista School District for 13 years. Ramirez has a BS degree in Human Resource Management from Bellevue University.

Responsibilities

The City Administrator is the chief administrative officer of the city and is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of City Council policies and priorities. All city departments are under the direction of the City Administrator and the Mayor and Council deal with all departments and employees through the City Administrator.

The office of the City Administrator is filled by appointment of the Mayor with the consent of the majority of the City Council.
